This paper describes FDup(Flat Collections Deduper), a general-purpose software framework supporting a complete deduplication workflow to manage big data record collections: metadata record data model definition, identification of candidate duplicates, identification of duplicates. FDup brings two main innovations: first, it delivers a full deduplication framework in a single easy-to-use software package based on Apache Spark Hadoop framework, where developers can customize the optimal and parallel workflow steps of blocking, sliding windows, and similarity matching function via an intuitive configuration file; second, it introduces a novel approach to improve performance, beyond the known techniques of “blocking” and “sliding window”, by introducing a smart similarity-matching function T-match. T-match is engineered as a decision tree that drives the comparisons of the fields of two records as branches of predicates and allows for successful or unsuccessful early exit strategies. While we have made great strides when it comes to accessibility of research data, discoverability is still one of the key challenges for open science: in many ways, we cannot cash the cheques written by this movement, if we do not increase the visibility of research outputs. Many research data discovery services have thus emerged, often embracing the principles of openness. They aim to make data discovery more effective, address new user needs, and exploit new technologies. This paper aims to support the conception and design of such tools by providing a descriptive framework of the current open ecosystem for research data discovery. In this framework we define the building blocks of the ecosystem (actors, roles and features of discovery services), describe how those interact with each other, and how they support the different discovery needs of researchers. We analyse the current practices of research data discovery to identify gaps in both the infrastructure and in users’ research strategy. We further analyse opportunities for innovative solutions to address the crisis of research data discoverability, improve data discovery and contribute to the evolution of the open However, the publishing process has become more and more a burden for scientists, who must, most of the time, spend time to publish their articles, data, software, and other products in the many institutional or thematic repositories of reference. Scenarios include first-time publishing of new resource products or double-publishing of research products, to satisfy institutional mandates and community practices. Such tedious work is often incomplete, with some products ending up unpublished and others showing incomplete or imprecise metadata. Some communities investigated and realised the integration of their research performing services, from research infrastructures and clusters, with repositories for research product deposition. The integration ensures that outcomes of such services are deposited automatically, prior authorization of the users, into a given repository, giving life to an end-to-end scientific workflow, from experimentation to publishing. The limit of existing approaches is to be bound to a specific repository API and format; introducing multiple repositories as potential targets of deposition for the service, multiplies the problem, as bilateral interactions with the respective repository API must be established. For example, the Zenodo deposition API and the B2SHARE API are similar but different in many ways; a service willing to automate publishing into either repositories would require implementing and maintaining two different workflows. For the EOSC to act as enabler for Open Science practices, its Interoperability Framework should guide services of research infrastructures and clusters of the EOSC on how to implement (semi-)automated workflows for the deposition and consumption of research products. To support different integration options, two modalities are supported by these guidelines: SWORD protocol v3 for push mode and a combination of COAR Notify and Signposting for pull mode. This paper proposes an efficient framework to create informative embeddings for node classification on large knowledge graphs. Such embeddings capture how a particular node of the graph interacts with his neighborhood and indicate if it is either isolated or part of a bigger clique. Since a homogeneous graph is necessary to perform this kind of analysis, the framework exploits the metapath approach to split the heterogeneous graph into multiple homogeneous graphs. The proposed pipeline includes an unsupervised attentive neural network to merge different metapaths and produce node embeddings suitable for classification.
