Cependant, ce secteur est confronté à des défis sanitaires majeurs, notamment les infections bactériennes, ainsi qu'à une forte dépendance aux antibiotiques. Dans ce contexte, les phytobiotiques apparaissent comme des alternatives naturelles intéressantes pour améliorer la santé et la performance des volailles. Parmi eux, le gingembre (Zingiber officinale) se distingue particulièrement, grâce à ses propriétés bioactives, et suscite un intérêt croissant comme substitut potentiel aux promoteurs de croissance chimiques. Cette revue de littérature synthétise les connaissances actuelles sur l'utilisation du gingembre en aviculture, en mettant l'accent sur ses effets zootechniques, physiologiques, métaboliques, antimicrobiens et antioxydants. Les données expérimentales indiquent que le gingembre améliore la digestibilité des nutriments, le gain de poids, l'indice de conversion alimentaire, les paramètres biochimiques et hématologiques, ainsi que la morphologie intestinale des volailles. Comparé aux additifs commerciaux, il offre des performances équivalentes tout en réduisant les risques liés aux résidus chimiques et en favorisant une production durable. Cependant, l'efficacité du gingembre dépend de la forme utilisée, de la dose, de l'espèce et des conditions d'élevage, soulignant la nécessité de standardiser les protocoles et de poursuivre les recherches sur les formulations innovantes et l'application à d'autres espèces aviaires. Enfin, le gingembre présente un potentiel socioéconomique significatif en Afrique subsaharienne, offrant une source locale accessible pour améliorer la productivité avicole tout en contribuant à la réduction de l'usage des antibiotiques. Cette revue fournit ainsi une base scientifique pour le développement de stratégies d'aviculture durable intégrant le gingembre comme complément alimentaire naturel.</p></div>","Die Geflügelwirtschaft spielt eine zentrale Rolle für die Ernährungssicherheit und trägt erheblich zur wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung vieler Länder bei. Dieser Sektor steht jedoch vor großen gesundheitlichen Herausforderungen, insbesondere bakteriellen Infektionen, und ist stark von Antibiotika abhängig. In diesem Kontext erscheinen Phytobiotika als vielversprechende natürliche Alternativen zur Verbesserung der Gesundheit und Leistungsfähigkeit von Geflügel. Unter ihnen sticht Ingwer (Zingiber officinale) aufgrund seiner bioaktiven Eigenschaften besonders hervor und gewinnt zunehmend an Interesse als potenzieller Ersatz für chemische Wachstumsförderer. Dieser Literaturüberblick fasst den aktuellen Wissensstand zur Verwendung von Ingwer in der Geflügelproduktion zusammen, mit Fokus auf seine zootechnischen, physiologischen, metabolischen, antimikrobiellen und antioxidativen Wirkungen. Experimentelle Daten zeigen, dass Ingwer die Nährstoffverdaulichkeit, Gewichtszunahme, Futterverwertung, biochemische und hämatologische Parameter sowie die Darmmorphologie bei Geflügel verbessert. Im Vergleich zu kommerziellen Zusatzstoffen bietet er eine vergleichbare Leistung, reduziert Risiken durch chemische Rückstände und fördert eine nachhaltige Produktion. Die Wirksamkeit von Ingwer hängt jedoch von der verwendeten Form, der Dosierung, der Art und den Haltungsbedingungen ab, was die Notwendigkeit einer Standardisierung der Protokolle und weiterer Forschungen zu innovativen Formulierungen und Anwendungen auf andere Vogelarten unterstreicht. Schließlich bietet Ingwer in Subsahara-Afrika ein erhebliches sozioökonomisches Potenzial, da er eine lokal verfügbare Ressource zur Steigerung der Geflügelproduktivität darstellt und gleichzeitig den Antibiotikaeinsatz reduziert. Dieser Überblick liefert somit eine wissenschaftliche Grundlage für die Entwicklung nachhaltiger Geflügelstrategien unter Einbeziehung von Ingwer als natürlichem Futtermittelzusatz.","Poultry farming plays a central role in food security and contributes significantly to the economic development of many countries. However, this sector faces major health challenges, notably bacterial infections, as well as a high dependence on antibiotics. In this context, phytobiotics emerge as promising natural alternatives to improve poultry health and performance. Among them, ginger (Zingiber officinale) stands out due to its bioactive properties and has attracted growing interest as a potential substitute for chemical growth promoters. This literature review synthesizes current knowledge on the use of ginger in poultry production, focusing on its zootechnical, physiological, metabolic, antimicrobial, and antioxidant effects. Experimental data indicate that ginger enhances nutrient digestibility, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, biochemical and hematological parameters, as well as intestinal morphology in poultry. Compared to commercial additives, it provides equivalent performance while reducing risks associated with chemical residues and promoting sustainable production. However, the efficacy of ginger depends on the form used, dosage, species, and rearing conditions, highlighting the need to standardize protocols and further explore innovative formulations and application to other avian species. Finally, ginger offers significant socioeconomic potential in sub-Saharan Africa, providing an accessible local resource to improve poultry productivity while contributing to reduced antibiotic usage. This review thus provides a scientific basis for developing sustainable poultry strategies integrating ginger as a natural feed supplement."],"publicationDate":"2026-04-20","publisher":"École Inter-États des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires de Dakar (EISMV)","embargoEndDate":null,"sources":null,"formats":["application/pdf"],"contributors":null,"coverages":null,"bestAccessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/"},"container":null,"documentationUrls":null,"codeRepositoryUrl":null,"programmingLanguage":null,"contactPeople":null,"contactGroups":null,"tools":null,"size":null,"version":null,"geoLocations":null,"id":"06cdd3ff4700::0174e8f8b12ef0b96659eaf8451882d5","originalIds":["50|06cdd3ff4700::0174e8f8b12ef0b96659eaf8451882d5","oai:episciences.org:raspa:18055"],"pids":null,"dateOfCollection":null,"lastUpdateTimeStamp":null,"indicators":{"citationImpact":{"citationCount":0.0,"influence":2.1746283E-9,"popularity":2.6085654E-9,"impulse":0.0,"citationClass":"C5","influenceClass":"C5","impulseClass":"C5","popularityClass":"C5"}},"projects":null,"organizations":[{"legalName":"Université d'Abomey-Calavi","acronym":"UAC","id":"openorgs____::e7065e84d4d17697b473845428f1457e","pids":[{"scheme":"OrgRef","value":"47000358"},{"scheme":"GRID","value":"grid.412037.3"},{"scheme":"Wikidata","value":"Q6979225"},{"scheme":"PIC","value":"999845058"},{"scheme":"wikidata","value":"Q6979225"},{"scheme":"OrgRef","value":"12475049"},{"scheme":"ISNI","value":"0000000103820205"},{"scheme":"ROR","value":"https://ror.org/03gzr6j88"}],"countries":[{"code":"BJ","label":"Benin"}],"websiteurl":"http://www.uac.bj/home/"}],"communities":[{"code":"eosc","label":"EOSC","provenance":null}],"collectedFrom":[{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}],"instances":[{"alternateIdentifiers":[{"scheme":"doi","value":"10.46298/raspa.16938"}],"license":"CC BY SA","accessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/","openAccessRoute":null},"type":"Article","urls":["https://doi.org/10.46298/raspa.16938","https://raspa.episciences.org/16938"],"publicationDate":"2026-04-20","refereed":"nonPeerReviewed","hostedBy":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"},"collectedFrom":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}}],"links":[],"otherTitles":null,"inDiamondJournal":false,"green":false,"isGreen":false,"isInDiamondJournal":false},{"authors":[{"id":null,"fullName":"Laminou, Ibrahim, Maman","name":"Ibrahim","surname":"Laminou","rank":1,"pid":null}],"openAccessColor":null,"publiclyFunded":null,"eoscIfGuidelines":null,"type":"publication","language":{"code":"fra/fre","label":"French"},"countries":null,"subjects":[{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"exérèse"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"[SDV]Life Sciences [q-bio]"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"jabot"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"Niger"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"[SDV.MHEP.CHI]Life Sciences [q-bio]/Human health and pathology/Surgery"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"Pigeon"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"chirurgie"},"provenance":null}],"mainTitle":"Cutting of the crown in the mondain pigeon: An innovative surgical approach","subTitle":null,"descriptions":["Problématique : La ptose du jabot est une affection fréquente chez le pigeon. Objectif : Cette étude décrit une technique chirurgicale innovante pour réaliser une exérèse chirurgicale du jabot chez le pigeon souffrant d’une colibacillose chronique au cabinet « la maison des éleveurs » à Niamey au Niger.Méthodologie : Les étapes de cette opération sont : la préparation du champ opératoire par déplumage de la zone d’intervention, un nettoyage-désinfection à la polyvidone iodée du site et une contention de l’oiseau. Aucune anesthésie locale ou générale n’est nécessaire car les oiseaux ne supportent pas les dérivés morphiniques comme la lurocaïne ou la xylocaïne. Deux pinces à coprostase sont ensuite posées pour délimiter à partie atteinte. Une exérèse de la partie inférieure du jabot ou de la partie perforée est réalisée à l’aide d’une paire de ciseau. Une synthèse en deux plans sera réalisée : un surjet simple avec un catgut résorbable sur la membrane du jabot et des points simples séparés sur la peau au moyen d’un fil non résorbable. L’opération se termine par un pansement médicamenteux de la plaie chirurgicale.Principaux résultats : Cette chirurgie est une intervention à très haut risque septique. Le taux de succès est 90%. Data were collected on farming practices, fish growth, marketable fish production, and economic parameters from six fish farms, including three floating-cage farms and three pond farms. The results show that the surveyed fish farmers are experienced, hire technical staff, practice monoculture of Oreochromis niloticus, and adhere to good farming practices. In both ponds and floating cages, these fish farmers use imported commercial feeds tailored to the fish's different growth stages. In floating cages, the rearing duration for Oreochromis niloticus from 9.00 ± 1.15 g to 600.00 ± 86.60 g was 6.71 ± 0.62 months, with an average daily weight gain of 2.98 ± 0.09 g/day. In contrast, in ponds, the rearing period for Oreochromis niloticus from 10 ± 0.00 g to 500.00 ± 0.00 g was 6.78 ± 1.35 months, with an average daily weight gain of 2.47 ± 0.44 g/day. The annual capacity for marketable fish production is closely linked to the facilities' capacity and the promoter's level of funding. However, at similar production levels, profit margins are higher in pond farming than in floating-cage farming. It would be opportune to make quality feeds accessible to the majority of fish farmers and to implement technical strategies for monitoring and financing pond farming to increase growth, production, and profitability of the fish farms.","La présente étude évalue la productivité des élevages de Oreochromis niloticus en cages flottantes et en étangs afin d’estimer leur contribution potentielle à la production de poisson d’élevage. This study made it possible to carry out a radio-anatomical atlas of the pelvic limb which highlighted the particularities at the level of the hip joint, which has a marked ilium neck and a rectangular pubic bone table, of the stifle joint where the medial femoral condyle is wider than the lateral femoral condyle."],"publicationDate":"2026-03-01","publisher":"École Inter-États des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires de Dakar (EISMV)","embargoEndDate":null,"sources":null,"formats":["application/pdf"],"contributors":null,"coverages":null,"bestAccessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/"},"container":null,"documentationUrls":null,"codeRepositoryUrl":null,"programmingLanguage":null,"contactPeople":null,"contactGroups":null,"tools":null,"size":null,"version":null,"geoLocations":null,"id":"06cdd3ff4700::05fec91b5769f38dd04c464fe5a75d23","originalIds":["oai:episciences.org:raspa:17591","50|06cdd3ff4700::05fec91b5769f38dd04c464fe5a75d23"],"pids":null,"dateOfCollection":null,"lastUpdateTimeStamp":null,"indicators":{"citationImpact":{"citationCount":0.0,"influence":2.1746283E-9,"popularity":2.6085654E-9,"impulse":0.0,"citationClass":"C5","influenceClass":"C5","impulseClass":"C5","popularityClass":"C5"}},"projects":null,"organizations":[{"legalName":"École Inter-États des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires de Dakar","acronym":"EISMV","id":"openorgs____::c5b75f23a6c55fbcc68f3299af3b4a9c","pids":[{"scheme":"ISNI","value":"000000009021116X"},{"scheme":"wikidata","value":"Q3578018"},{"scheme":"ROR","value":"https://ror.org/02v8m8m62"},{"scheme":"Wikidata","value":"Q3578018"},{"scheme":"GRID","value":"grid.442753.3"}],"countries":[{"code":"SN","label":"Senegal"}],"websiteurl":"http://eismv.org/"}],"communities":[{"code":"eosc","label":"EOSC","provenance":null}],"collectedFrom":[{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}],"instances":[{"alternateIdentifiers":[{"scheme":"doi","value":"10.46298/raspa.16992"}],"license":"CC BY","accessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/","openAccessRoute":null},"type":"Article","urls":["https://raspa.episciences.org/16992","https://doi.org/10.46298/raspa.16992"],"publicationDate":"2026-03-01","refereed":"nonPeerReviewed","hostedBy":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"},"collectedFrom":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}}],"links":[],"otherTitles":null,"inDiamondJournal":false,"green":false,"isGreen":false,"isInDiamondJournal":false},{"authors":[{"id":null,"fullName":"Badji, Alkaly","name":"Alkaly","surname":"Badji","rank":1,"pid":null},{"id":null,"fullName":"Thior, Yakhya El Hadji","name":"Yakhya El Hadji","surname":"Thior","rank":2,"pid":null},{"id":null,"fullName":"Kane, Ousmane","name":"Ousmane","surname":"Kane","rank":3,"pid":null},{"id":null,"fullName":"Faye, Awa","name":"Awa","surname":"Faye","rank":4,"pid":null},{"id":null,"fullName":"Faye, Abdoulaye","name":"Abdoulaye","surname":"Faye","rank":5,"pid":null},{"id":null,"fullName":"Gbati, Oubri Bassa","name":"Oubri Bassa","surname":"Gbati","rank":6,"pid":null}],"openAccessColor":"hybrid","publiclyFunded":false,"eoscIfGuidelines":null,"type":"publication","language":{"code":"fra/fre","label":"French"},"countries":null,"subjects":[{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"Diptera Chrysomya bezziana traumatic myiasis small ruminants Senegal"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"traumatic myiasis"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"Diptera"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"[SDV]Life Sciences [q-bio]"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"small ruminants"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"Chrysomya bezziana"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"Senegal"},"provenance":null}],"mainTitle":"Traumatic myiasis of small ruminants : About a case observed at the ISFAR/UADB Veterinary Clinic in Senegal.","subTitle":null,"descriptions":["Les myiases sont des infestations des tissus humains ou animaux par des larves de mouches de l’ordre des Diptères. L’identification a permis d’émettre l’hypothèse, sur la base des éléments morphologiques observés comme, entre autres, la forme du corps, les spiracles postérieurs et la disposition des épines cuticulaires, qu’il s’agissait soit de larves de Cochliomyia hominivorax ou de Chrysomya bezziana. The identification made it possible to hypothesize, on the basis of the morphological elements observed such as, among others, the shape of the body, the posterior spiracles and the arrangement of the cuticular spines, that it was either larvae of Cochliomyia hominivorax or of Chrysomya bezziana. Spécifiquement, il s'est agi d'évaluer les effets du décoté sur la température rectale, sur la fréquence respiratoire, sur le pH sanguin, et sur les paramètres zootechniques. Pour ce faire, 200 poussins d'un jour ont été élevés ensemble, nourris avec le même aliment industriel et recevant l'eau de robinet jusqu'au 25 e jour avant d'être répartis en 3 lots de 65 poulets en fonction de l'eau d'abreuvement jusqu'à l'abattage au 45 e jour : un lot témoin recevant de l'eau de robinet comme boisson, un lot recevant 5 g/l du décocté de A. indica et un lot recevant 10g/l du décocté de A. indica. Les résultats montrent que le décocté de A. indica n'a pas baissé la température corporelle des poulets ; une baisse de la fréquence respiratoire vespérale est observée dans les lots traités à partir de deux semaines de traitement ; une alcalose respiratoire (pH=8, 2) est observée dans le lot témoin avec un taux de mortalité significativement plus élevé (12,3%) ; aucune différence significative n'a été notée dans le poids vif des sujets à l'abattage. Cette révèle que le décocté de A. indica permet de lutter contre le stress thermique chez les poulets de chair par amélioration de la ventilation pulmonaire.","Poultry farming is a rapidly expanding sector in Senegal. Nevertheless, one of the constraints to the growth of poultry farming is the hot climate which causes heat stress on chickens, leading to mortality in bands. So the general aim of this study is to explore an alternative based on the use of Azadirachta indica decoction to fight heat stress in broilers in Senegal. Specifically, the effects of decoction on rectal temperature, respiratory frequency, blood pH and zootechnical parameters were evaluated. For this purpose, 200 day-old chicks were reared together, fed the same industrial feed and given tap water until day 25. They were randomly divided into 3 groups of 65 chickens each according to drinking water until day 45 when slaughted: a control group receiving tap water as drink, a group receiving 5 g/l decotion of Azadirachta indica extract and a group receiving 10g/l decoction of the Azadirachta indica. The results show that A. indica decoction did not lower the body temperature of the chickens; a drop in vesper respiratory frequency was observed in the treated groups after two weeks of treatment; respiratory alkalosis (pH=8.2) was observed in control group with a significantly higher mortality rate (12.3%); no significant difference was noted in the live weight of the subjects at slaughter. Les maladies parasitaires responsables des saisies d’organes ou de carcasses des animaux précités sont la fasciolose bovine, l’hydatidose des dromadaires et la dicrocoeliose des petits ruminants. La prévalence des saisies était respectivement de 1,30%, 0,09% et 0,02%. Les Pertes économiques totales dues à la fasciolose résultant des saisies de foies et de la perte de poids des carcasses ont été estimées à 229 635 500 FCFA tandis que les pertes liées aux organes et carcasse dues à l’hydatidose et la dicrocoeliose étaient estimées à 336 000 FCFA et 408 000 FCFA respectivement. Les maladies parasitaires ont un impact important sur les productions animales et certaines d’entre elles présentent des risques pour la santé publique. Les mesures de contrôle doivent donc être renforcées pour minimiser leurs impacts.","This retrospective study was conducted to assess the prevalence and economic losses associated with parasitic diseases responsible for the seizure of cattle, small ruminant and dromedary organs or carcasses at the Farcha Abattoir Frigorifique in Chad. Data were collected from the meat inspection register of cattle, small ruminants and dromedaries slaughtered at the Farcha Abattoir Frigorifique between January 2013 and December 2018. The parasitic diseases responsible for the seizures of organs or carcasses of the aforementioned animals were bovine fasciolosis, hydatidosis of dromedaries and dicrocoeliosis of small ruminants. The prevalence of seizures was 1.30%, 0.09% and 0.02% respectively. Total economic losses due to fascioliasis resulting from liver seizures and carcass weight loss were estimated at 229,635,500 FCFA, while organ and carcass losses due to hydatidosis and dicrocoeliosis were estimated at 336,000 FCFA and 408,000 FCFA respectively. Parasitic diseases have a major impact on livestock production, and some of them present public health risks. Control measures must therefore be stepped up to minimise their impact."],"publicationDate":"2025-05-13","publisher":"École Inter-États des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires de Dakar (EISMV)","embargoEndDate":null,"sources":null,"formats":["application/pdf"],"contributors":null,"coverages":null,"bestAccessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/"},"container":null,"documentationUrls":null,"codeRepositoryUrl":null,"programmingLanguage":null,"contactPeople":null,"contactGroups":null,"tools":null,"size":null,"version":null,"geoLocations":null,"id":"06cdd3ff4700::2ff172f230711a57a0aa390ddb2860ea","originalIds":["oai:episciences.org:raspa:15659","50|06cdd3ff4700::2ff172f230711a57a0aa390ddb2860ea"],"pids":null,"dateOfCollection":null,"lastUpdateTimeStamp":null,"indicators":{"citationImpact":{"citationCount":0.0,"influence":2.1746283E-9,"popularity":2.2497804E-9,"impulse":0.0,"citationClass":"C5","influenceClass":"C5","impulseClass":"C5","popularityClass":"C5"}},"projects":null,"organizations":[{"legalName":"UNIVERSITE DE DEDOUGOU","acronym":"UNIVERSITE DE DEDOUGOU","id":"pending_org_::9dd146ec6b632200eefbab7f8b61d6ab","pids":[{"scheme":"Wikidata","value":"Q79396645"},{"scheme":"PIC","value":"902824494"},{"scheme":"ROR","value":"https://ror.org/03jqqba05"},{"scheme":"wikidata","value":"Q79396645"}],"countries":[{"code":"BF","label":"Burkina Faso"}],"websiteurl":"https://www.univ-dedougou.gov.bf"},{"legalName":"École Inter-États des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires de Dakar","acronym":"EISMV","id":"openorgs____::c5b75f23a6c55fbcc68f3299af3b4a9c","pids":[{"scheme":"ISNI","value":"000000009021116X"},{"scheme":"wikidata","value":"Q3578018"},{"scheme":"ROR","value":"https://ror.org/02v8m8m62"},{"scheme":"Wikidata","value":"Q3578018"},{"scheme":"GRID","value":"grid.442753.3"}],"countries":[{"code":"SN","label":"Senegal"}],"websiteurl":"http://eismv.org/"}],"communities":[{"code":"eosc","label":"EOSC","provenance":null}],"collectedFrom":[{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}],"instances":[{"alternateIdentifiers":[{"scheme":"doi","value":"10.46298/raspa.14995"}],"license":"CC BY","accessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/","openAccessRoute":null},"type":"Article","urls":["https://raspa.episciences.org/14995","https://doi.org/10.46298/raspa.14995"],"publicationDate":"2025-05-13","refereed":"nonPeerReviewed","hostedBy":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"},"collectedFrom":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}}],"links":[],"otherTitles":null,"inDiamondJournal":false,"green":false,"isGreen":false,"isInDiamondJournal":false},{"authors":[{"id":null,"fullName":"Augereau, Anne","name":"Anne","surname":"Augereau","rank":1,"pid":{"id":{"scheme":"orcid_pending","value":"0000-0002-8626-3236"},"provenance":null}}],"openAccessColor":"hybrid","publiclyFunded":false,"eoscIfGuidelines":null,"type":"publication","language":{"code":"fra/fre","label":"French"},"countries":null,"subjects":[{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"biologie"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"préhistoire"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"cultural variations"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"biology"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"social invariants"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"domination masculine"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"invariants sociaux"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"prehistory"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"variations culturelles"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"FOS","value":"0601 history and archaeology"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"FOS","value":"06 humanities and the arts"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"male domination"},"provenance":null},{"subject":{"scheme":"keyword","value":"[SHS]Humanities and Social Sciences"},"provenance":null}],"mainTitle":"The fundamental structures of prehistoric societies","subTitle":null,"descriptions":["Bernard Lahire montre dans Les structures fondamentales des sociétés humaines que deux contraintes biologiques – la procréation sexuée et l’altricialité prolongée – façonnent durablement les organisations sociales humaines. Elles génèrent des rapports de dépendance et de domination, complétés par des invariants sociaux (parenté, division du travail, hiérarchies d’âge, transmission culturelle) qui structurent toutes les sociétés tout en laissant place à d’importantes variations culturelles. Pour la préhistoire, ce cadre fournit un outil essentiel : face à des données lacunaires, il permet de resserrer les hypothèses et d’ancrer les analyses dans les continuités du vivant. L’ouvrage éclaire également l’origine structurelle de la domination masculine, sans nier la capacité des sociétés humaines à en moduler ou dépasser les effets. En offrant une « carte » des invariants sociaux, Lahire apporte ainsi un appui théorique majeur aux recherches préhistoriques.","In Les structures fondamentales des sociétés humaines, Bernard Lahire shows that two biological constraints– sexual procreation and prolonged altriciality–permanently shape human social organisations. They generate relationships of dependence and domination, complemented by social invariants (kinship, division of labour, age hierarchies, cultural transmission) that structure all societies while leaving room for significant cultural variation. For prehistory, this framework provides an essential tool: in the face of incomplete data, it enables us to narrow down our hypotheses and anchor our analyses in the continuities of life. The book also sheds light on the structural origins of male domination, without denying the ability of human societies to modulate or overcome its effects. By offering a “map” of social invariants, Lahire provides major theoretical support for prehistoric research."],"publicationDate":"2026-01-16","publisher":"Presses de l’Inalco","embargoEndDate":null,"sources":null,"formats":["application/pdf"],"contributors":null,"coverages":null,"bestAccessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/"},"container":null,"documentationUrls":null,"codeRepositoryUrl":null,"programmingLanguage":null,"contactPeople":null,"contactGroups":null,"tools":null,"size":null,"version":null,"geoLocations":null,"id":"06cdd3ff4700::3c8734759ca685b966b1d737c37daeed","originalIds":["oai:episciences.org:societes-plurielles:17330","50|06cdd3ff4700::3c8734759ca685b966b1d737c37daeed"],"pids":null,"dateOfCollection":null,"lastUpdateTimeStamp":null,"indicators":{"citationImpact":{"citationCount":0.0,"influence":2.1746283E-9,"popularity":2.6085654E-9,"impulse":0.0,"citationClass":"C5","influenceClass":"C5","impulseClass":"C5","popularityClass":"C5"}},"projects":null,"organizations":[{"legalName":"Institut National de Recherches Archéologiques Préventives","acronym":"Inrap","id":"openorgs____::8523b3fb228142acad01759e703cbaa8","pids":[{"scheme":"ISNI","value":"0000000121590925"},{"scheme":"RNSR","value":"RNSR:201923180T"},{"scheme":"ROR","value":"https://ror.org/04andmq85"},{"scheme":"PIC","value":"957238487"},{"scheme":"GRID","value":"grid.466734.4"}],"countries":[{"code":"FR","label":"France"}],"websiteurl":"http://www.inrap.fr/"},{"legalName":"Technologie et Ethnologie des Mondes PréhistoriqueS","acronym":"Technologie et Ethnologie des Mondes PréhistoriqueS","id":"pending_org_::94eb18f9a788f630a798527c00d8d687","pids":[{"scheme":"RNSR","value":"RNSR:202224230W"},{"scheme":"wikidata","value":"Q131418772"},{"scheme":"Wikidata","value":"Q131418772"},{"scheme":"ROR","value":"https://ror.org/02my5hx05"}],"countries":[{"code":"FR","label":"France"}],"websiteurl":null}],"communities":[{"code":"eosc","label":"EOSC","provenance":null}],"collectedFrom":[{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}],"instances":[{"alternateIdentifiers":[{"scheme":"doi","value":"10.46298/societes-plurielles.2026.17330"}],"license":"CC BY NC","accessRight":{"code":"c_abf2","label":"OPEN","scheme":"http://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/documentation/access_rights/","openAccessRoute":null},"type":"Article","urls":["https://societes-plurielles.episciences.org/17330","https://doi.org/10.46298/societes-plurielles.2026.17330"],"publicationDate":"2026-01-16","refereed":"nonPeerReviewed","hostedBy":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"},"collectedFrom":{"key":"openaire____::6824b298c96ba906a3e6a70593affbf5","value":"Episciences"}}],"links":[],"otherTitles":null,"inDiamondJournal":false,"green":false,"isGreen":false,"isInDiamondJournal":false}]}
