Our four-year journey has delivered tangible scientific breakthroughs — like a cuttingedge enzyme screening platform, cleaner cotton bleaching, and enzyme-powered laundry disinfection alternatives, and characterized a novelbacterial lactoperoxidase with potential in food preservation and personal care products. Beyond the lab, our engagement with European stakeholders has brought forward two new policy briefs on emerging frameworks that could shape the enzyme field. Through three events in Madrid, we closed ranks with sister projects to reflect on shared messages: stakeholder inclusion, sustainability through action, and the cultural shifts needed to unlock the biotech potential. Biotechnology can’t solve everything, but it can do more than we often imagine. Researchers, industry, and policymakers alike must continue to build alliances, lead change, and raise awareness. OXIPRO has shown what’s possible when knowledge meets purpose.
