By harnessing the power of enzymes, OXIPRO partners have developed an innovative method that aims to sanitize fabrics effectively without relying on traditional chemical disinfectants. This eco-friendly approach not only promises to revolutionize household laundry but also offers a glimpse into the future of greener cleaning solutions.  This sustainable laundry solution uses the enzyme AldoTf, which turns glycerol into hydrogen peroxide—a natural disinfectant—during the wash cycle at just 30°C. This method offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical detergents and works well with energy-efficient machines.  Challenges:Current industry standards for disinfection are based on fast-acting chemicals and don’t account for the slower, continuous action of enzyme-based cleaners.
